ONE DAY IN VIENNA | City Tour | Boat Hire | Art | Cake! | Epic European Adventure #EP16

Join us as we explore Vienna Austria in this One Day in Vienna Travel Vlog. We start the day arriving in Vienna on a sleeper train after leaving Venice the night before we catch a taxi to the meeting point of our free Walking tour of Vienna.

Starting from Albrechtsbrunnen (the Albrecht´s fountain) at the Albertinaplatz we walked past some of the most important highlights of the city of Vienna. From the Opera to the Hofburg, from the oldest coffeehouse to St. Stephen Cathedral, our guide talked us through the history, anecdotes, and the famous personalities, that have made Vienna a cultural international capital.

Our free walking tour was the perfect way to start our experience in Vienna, as it gave us an overview of all the city has to offer.

After the free Vienna walking tour we caught the subway to the river, here we hired a boat and sailed up and down the river for two hours. This was such a fun experience and one of the highlight of our whole Europe trip. When we had finished we caught the underground back into the centre of Vienna where we had some cake before visiting the Albertina Museum.

The Albertina Museum houses a large number of artworks by some very famous artists including Andy Warhol, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Paul Cézanne, Gustav Klimt, Edvard Munch and Joan Miró. After touring the Art Museum we had dinner at a local restaurant and of course we had the national dish of Austria, Schnitzel.

We took a final walk around the city of Vienna including looking at Karlskirche before catching a tram back to the train station. Here we weird in the first class lounge before boarding our sleeper train to Krakow in Poland.

Travelshorts’ Epic European Adventure is a family travel vlog about a father, son and daughter travelling around Europe over three weeks using only Trains, buses, boats and taxis. The plan was to see as much as possible whilst still reducing our carbon footprint. In this 22 episode series we visit France, Switzerland, Italy, Vatican City, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and of course the UK. The goal was to have as much fun as possible and create memories that will last a life time.
