Join us on our first full day in Japan as we explore the city of Osaka.
We start off at our hotel the Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka. we then go to the Namba Jinja Shrine (Namba Yasaka Jinja) which is a short walk away. This is a small shrine in the shape of a lion’s head.
After that we get the Subway to Osaka Castle, the castle is one of Japan’s most famous landmarks and played a major role in the unification of Japan during the sixteenth century. We then go to the Umeda Sky Building but stop at Kura Sushi along the way, Kura Sushi is a chain of conveyor belt Sushi restaurants and we really enjoyed the food there.
The Kuchu Teien Observatory is an observation facility connecting the Tower East and Tower West of the Umeda Sky Building, on the 39th, 40th and rooftop floors. We had a great view from the top and travelling along the escalators was a highlight. Just like the night before we finish the day in Dotonbori enjoying the sites and street food.
