Florida Holiday 2018 Day 18

By Mark

Today we went over to Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral. I am a big space enthusiast so wanted to pass that love of all things space to Matthew and Holly.

The drive took a bit less than one hour from our hotel to the Cape. A lot had changed since the last time I was here in 2008, the first area we went in was the Rocket Garden for some photographs followed by Heroes and Legends the Astronaut Hall of Fame.

We then went into Journey To Mars: Explorers Wanted followed by the gift shop and watched a lecture by the Astronaut Wendy Lawrence at the Astronaut Encounter.

We took the Bus tour around the facility to the Apollo Saturn V Center to view the artefacts from the Apollo Program. We had lunch here at the Moon Rock Café.

We took the bus back to the main complex to see the Shuttle Atlantis Exhibit and the Space Mirror Memorial.

When Kennedy Space Center closed we drove back to Disney Springs and had dinner at T-Rex Restaurant, a dinosaur themed restaurant.
