Chessington World of Adventures

By Mark

Holly loves the Gruffalo so what better place to go and see him than Chessington World of Adventures and their new Gruffalo River Ride.

We decided to drive down one morning to give us a day and a half at the park. Luckily we did as the first afternoon rained non stop.

The first day we were able to have a meet and greet with the Gruffalo and also ride the Gruffalo River Ride a number of times. We also experienced all the other attractions the park had to offer. Both Matthew and Holly loved the Scorpion rollercoaster.

For dinner we went to the all you could eat pizza buffet in the park. Using my 20% annual pass discount it worked out quite reasonable.

One thing I would say about the park is the guide map was terrible. I have been to a lot of theme parks over the years and this one has to be one of the worst. It was not to scale, missed whole paths off and attractions appeared in different locations.

That evening we stayed at the Premier Inn Chessington which is right next to the park, it was a nice hotel.

The next day we went back to the park and luckily it was not raining so got to enjoy the park without waterproof jackets and wet feet.

Today as well as going on the rides we did the Ladybird trail, which was a treasure hunt around the park to win some limited edition pop badges.

We had lunch at the fish and chip place and was not very impressed with it.

We stayed to park closing and then left.
